Genji Challa is a wet milling site that is part of the Nano Challa Cooperative in Gera town, Agaro. If the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, then Genji Challa is the proverbial apple to Nano Challa's tree. Or maybe "peach", more accurately describes the similarities these two share across cup profiles.
The dry fragrance is all honey sweet, the wet aromatics orange marmalade and tinned peaches. The cup itself is a perfect mixture of the dry fragrance and wet aromatics.
Super sweet and floral but with a viscosity that is honey like, it as the cup cools that the prized fruited characteristics of this delicious coffee really start to display themselves. Peaches and Apricots are easily distinguable but this is not a one trick pony coffee, there are other complex stone fruits shimmering underneath the one two opening flurry of peaches and apricots. There is also a delightful brightness in the cup in the form of a tangy citrus quality, orange specifically.
Talk about a versatile Ethiopia. This coffee works across the brewing spectrum, from espresso to pour over, french press to kyoto drip.
